CALL FOR PAPERS, SUBMISSIONS, SURVEYS & NOMINATIONS
**Call for articles: Exchange magazine on HIV/AIDS, Sexuality and Gender*
Application Deadline: 20 November 2008
Exchange is a magazine on HIV/AIDS, sexuality and gender in developing countries. It is published quarterly by the Royal Tropical Institute ( KIT )
in collaboration with Southern Africa HIV and AIDS Information Dissemination (SAfAIDS) in Zimbabwe . Exchange continuously welcomes contributions for its forthcoming issues. The articles should preferably focus on HIV in relation to gender, culture, sexual health, and sexuality and/or rights issues. Exchange is especially interested in receiving reflective papers from programme managers and other staff of local and national NGOs working in the Global South about their successful and promising programmes, strategies or approaches. Asia Pacific Leadership Program
The East-West Center is pleased to announce new fellowships for the Asia Pacific Leadership Program for 2009-10. Entering its eight year, the Asia Pacific Leadership Program (APLP) is the center of excellence for leadership education in the Asia Pacific region. The APLP is a graduate certificate program combining the development of regional expertise with the enhancement of individual leadership capacity. Based at the East-West Center in Honolulu , Hawaii , the program has created a network of dynamic leaders in 48 countries who are helping to build a peaceful, prosperous and just Asia Pacific community. All participants receive an APLP Entrance Fellowship valued at approximately $15,000.
Participants: The Asia Pacific Leadership Program seeks outstanding individuals with proven leadership experience or high leadership potential from across the Asia Pacific region, North America and beyond. All participants have at least a Bachelors degree with the majority having graduate degrees as well. At least 20 countries are represented in each cohort. APLP Fellows come together from all walks of life, including areas as diverse as government, business, NGOs, health sciences, media, monastic orders, and education.

Dear All,
Please review the following link for the application form to join another project under the International Year of Languages 2008. http://projects.takingitglobal.org/iyl
The project is third in the sequence under the International Year of Languages and will have three components. The project is likely to include:
1. Enhancing communication between the A and the A regions
2. Research on cultural diversity
3. Exchange ideas to protect cultural heritage on both sides.
4. Collaboration between scientific researchers and institutions
5. Translation of the scientific materials will be done to overcome language barriers.
6. Translation of the regional literature for the new English readership and promotion of the literature of the endangered languages
Apply by the 7th of November 2008.

Call for articles for the next issue
Exchange is a magazine on HIV/AIDS, sexuality and gender in developing countries. It is published quarterly by the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) in collaboration with Southern Africa HIV and AIDS Information Dissemination (SAfAIDS) in Zimbabwe.
Exchange is continuously welcoming contributions for its forthcoming issues. The articles should preferably focus on HIV in relation to gender, culture, sexual health, sexuality and/or rights issues. We are especially interested in receiving reflective papers from programme managers and other staff of local and national level NGOs working in the Global South about their successful and promising programmes, strategies or approaches. Please note that we prefer articles that go beyond describing a phenomenon by sharing good and promising practice in programming or advocacy work.
The next issue of Exchange on HIV/AIDS, Sexuality and Gender will focus on innovative initiatives addressing HIV and AIDS information needs of people with disabilities.
The deadline for submission of articles is November 20, 2008.
Please contact the editor for detailed guidelines and suggestions on a given thematic focus before you start writing.
