This Health Center now Named an Integrated Health Center is own by Government and manage by a State Registered Nurse (Chief of post and the only CONSULTING MEDICAL STAFF) and 4 staff of which two are not Qualified Train Health Care Workers. Please see diagram below. Esu Village with her rapidly increasing population of the 15 Quarters that make up the village and their demanding Health Care needs of the Sick. The limited Health care workers (Professional and Materially) can no longer help the community in providing Quality Health Care Services. Since it creation this Integrated Health Center has never had a practicing qualified Medical Doctor who also need materials to better help improved the Health of the Communities they are saving. With the lack of the above mentioned many patients (Sick people) are usually refereed out of their resident community to the nearest Hospital with a Medical Doctor that can only be found in Wum Town about 26km away. As a result of this many people who can not afford to go to the nearest Hospital to Consult with a Medical Doctor either because of lack of transportation or lack of the knowledge to do so. Resort to Traditional Medicine or consult watch Doctors. Many of those who may try to transport will always do it late due to poor transportation Net work and bad roads.
Background:
Esu village has a population of about 26,000 inhabitants, which is the largest population among the villages that make up the Forgum Subdivision (Weh, Esu menkaf, Zhoa etc) in the Menchum Division of the North West Province of Cameroon. Esu Village is about 21 km West of it Sub-Divisional Headquarter Zhoa, (Forgum Division), and about 26km East of the Divisional Headquarter. The only health center in ESU village is owned by Government and managed by a state registered nurse, (the Chief of Post), and four health care workers. Thus, Esu is a village with a rapidly growing population with an ever increase demand for quality healthcare for the medically ill. The limited number of health care workers imposes great limitation on its capacity to provide quality health care. Furthermore, Esu has never had a Qualified Medical Doctor or the supplies needed to really conduct basic and quality medical practices. Because of these conditions patients are usually referred to the nearest hospital, which is found in Wum about 26 km away. Many people cannot afford to go to this hospital because of lack of poor transportation network (Roads), or simply the lack of knowledge to do so. They usually resort to traditional medicines or consulting with native doctors. Most attempts to travel to a hospital are carried out late, and many of these people end up dieing because they did not receive the care they deserved. Due to the presence of the only health center in Esu with primitive supplies and the lack of qualified medical staff to provide education, the people of Esu are ignorant of the state of their own health. CAMCWEMEF has taken on the challenge to provide the Esu people (Children, Families and the Community) the right to accessible, quality health care. We believe that the strength of a community is directly affected by the health of the individuals who live within them. With better access to health care, an individual\'s overall health and well-being is drastically improved and they are better able to work study and provide for their families. Health Care Transformation development of life’s is the process through which children, families and communities identify and overcome the obstacles that prevent them from living life in all its fullness. In turn, the local economy benefits from a more productive labour force and a community better able to educate, plan and build its resources. In short, our Organization believes that access to basic Quality medical care is key to empowering Children, Families and the communities. With effective intervention, the debilitating effects of poor or no medical attention can be reduced and potentially eliminated.
