Description:
Massive displacement in North Kivu has been the result of violent fighting between the Congolese government and rebel forces let by Gen. Laurent Nkunda. The Mazombo Menga Rodolphe Project supports civilians that are affected by the current conflict between the Rebels and government troops. Rolph and hundreds of thousands of civilians are grieving the loss of many family and friends, they have lost all personal belongings, including their homes. Children are being abducted and forced at extremely young ages to become killers, under strict demands to kill or they will be killed. Women are raped and tortured, fathers are brutally killed in front of their family, siblings are torn apart; these people are living in absolute fear. They need your help.
Background:
Rolph has always been a reliable individual and we entrust him to receive and manage funds as he proven his dedication to his community and desire to help others over the past few years.
Objectives:
Providing funds as immediate relief services to displaced civilians, and to help protect victims of war, rape, and other terror caused by the conflict arising between government troops and (LRA) rebels in The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Africa.
Milestones:
All donations and financial contributions will received and manged only by Rolph. Rolph is legal representative of an organization that supports youth and also does work for the developmental purposes of his community. The MJA, Mutuelle Jeunesse Active (MJA) is a Congolese humanitarian organization formed in 2003 by Mazombo Menga Rodolphe in therntumultuous province of South Kivu. MJA works out of Uvira, where insecurity and lack of development resourcesrn have created a dire situation for the community.
Budget:
With at least one million people that are displaced in North Kivu, and 1.4 million in DRC as a whole- Marcus Prior, WFP's spokesman in East Africa said, " We need probably 10,000 tonnes a month into North and South Kivu which is an enormous amount. We're going to need the support of the international community to buy more food in the months ahead."
Needs:
Contributions/donations to trapped civilians in the Congo that need food, shelter, water and health care
