Description:
Design for Change Contest 2010 is an international competition to promote children taking the reigns of global change into their own hands so they can, BE THE CHANGE. The rules are simple: Children must design a solution to a problem in their community and make it happen!
Background:
Organize the contest in schools through out the world. Last year the contest was conducted in India in which 33,000 schools from across the country spanning rural village, urban slums and upper elite middle schools participated. This time contest is being held globally. We currently have 19 countries, spanning across all continents, participating in the contest.
Objectives:
The contest is for school children;Along with participating in the contest there are many opportunities for youth volunteers like -- coordinating with schools, promoting the contest, talking to sponsors and etc. Also to document the ideas children implemented, we would need help from youth skilled at writing, translating, website maintenance, videography, and photography.
