Yesterday, a half page paid advertisement came out in the Philippine Star supposedly signed by Biotech scientists who claim that the Bt Corn is safe. Read below in the project document, the statement of Obet Verzola of the Philippine Greens, one of the No to Bt Corn Commercialization Hunger Striker in response to this half-page paid ad. Thanks!

Dear Friends, Ka'Balai met this afternoon and we have decided to pursue two main strategies for this campaign:

2) We will be tapping the support of Cycling advocates in Metro Manila to a joint public education campaign called "BIKING ABOUT GMOs" The idea is to convince as many cyclist organizations as possible that they should devote several of thier regular biking activities (usually weekends) to promote to the public through distribution of flier, attaching flaglets with GMO messages and wearing shirts with GMO messages. Ka'Balai will support with cyclist by organizing discussion sessions for them on the issue. As much as we can, Ka'Balai will also try to mobilize resources through sponsorships and grants to produce some of the flaglets and fliers. The Ka'Balai Biking Unit will likewise spearhead the conduct of joint and massive (100 cyclist and up) GMO info rides with the active participation and cooperation of major cycling groups in specific dates that will be announced soon.
