BACKGROUND: sorry if i took a long time finalizing the concept paper. actually, i am having a hard time juggling work and this project. though reality hit me that i need to be sustainable on my own for me to live comfortably. though, culture here in our country (the Philippines) allows to to be dependent with your parents and still live with them "limitless" but i opted to "free" my parents of the burden to raise me..i believe that more im than lucky to have them supported me all the way, enabling me to become who i am today..so this time, im repaying this blessing through helping others. You see, i am fortunate to have such a great childhood and it "kills" me to see the kids who are deprived of it. here in my country, sadly, there are a lot of those deprived ones. and i know that it is not only HAPPENING here in my own land but perhaps to yours too and if ever it does not occur in your place you should realize how lucky you are...

wont you want for others to be as lucky as you too?...well, their parents may have failed to give them even the basic needs. the government might failed to give these little angel the assistance that they needed. before, i may have blame the parents or the government for the negligence but i realized that these "curses and blames" wont make their lives better. it wont give even the slightest change. at the end of the day, this children will remain in the streets, deprived of their rights and do not experience the childhood that they deserve. and WE who have the luxury of home will remain empty because we have done nothing for these little ones...

i remembered once, i found beggars (known as the bajiaos in our native language) begging at the seaport. these parents bring their children with them..or shall i say infant with them..imagine this: less than a year old soaked in seawater for the whole day...and i pity them...or pity is an understatement...

for years, ive tried to help the children in my own little way. i can say that i am a nobody. i dont belong to the influential family in our country. i am a plain and young woman who aim to help these young ones. a wandering soul trying to find her niche in the world. we are not rich too. though these people need the basics- material things in which i may have a limited resource but i know that there are a lot of people out there- who have their own sets of limitations (like me) but if these people gather together and through collective strengths, i am confident that these can not only initiate change but can MAKE A BETTER WORLD.

so i came up with this idea...

so what is the kiddieproject about?

this kiddieproject is a youth movement composed of three categories; these are:
children- (ages 3-14): the target benefeciary of the program
youth volunteers (15-25): these are are youth who will serve as the prime movers of the movement; they are the ones who will initiate and implement the projects.
youth mentors (26 above): they are the ones who will "graduate" from being a volunteer and serve as the advisers and mentors to the youth. this may also include the "young once" as honorary members to guide the youth in the formulation and implementation of the different projects.

why such a structure?

why the children?

because these are the ones whom the youth can address and relate to. it is so hard to do something that we didnt have a touch of. the children because these are the ones who needed a helping a hand. these are ones whom we need to build a future with.

why the youth?

because as young as they are, they can do something, BETTER things. this is the high time for them to start building our nation. this will serve as a training ground for the youth to achieve the spirit of volunteerism and become effective agents of change.

why the need of mentors?

we cannot discount the "wisdom" of the elders and the "teachings" of experience. therefore, we need this people for guidance and help, for encouragement and inspiration.

the rationale behind?

its very obvious though but i will reiterate. it is for us, regardless of our age, sex, religion, nationality and race to do our part and perform our role. in the society where there is an increase of greed and self-centeredness, we need to be reminded that there is more to our existence than self-gratification. there can never be greater feeling than making yourself better because you have made others become who they are..

project proposal

overview of the project

the happykiddieproject is a loose movement that tries to help the children by initiating and implementing different activities. this project will calendar different "mini-projects" that will focus on children- alternative education, upholding of their rights; etc. for the youth- organizing these activities; improving leadership skill through leadership trainings. furthermore, supporting different activities in both local and international event (e.g. childrens month that is celebrated every year, or environmental month etc.,) for the purpose of effective involvement and cooperation.

to give you a better picture of the mini-project:

the HappyKiddieChristmas wherein, my fellow children advocates are starting to collect toys, books, and other stuff that could be given to the children as a christmas present. the youth will serve as teh "santa clause" for these less fortunate kids.

the youth prior to collecting this stuff will choose a place/community/city/ to be their benefeciary.

other target project plans:

summer kids workshop
kids tutorials
adopt-a-kid program
and supporting other legal and traditional activities of the place

(open for suggestion)

why is it consider a loose movement?

a loose movement because this program can be applied to any parts of the globe. any youth organization can apply and help in contributing for its sustainability. this is also a way of the youth to go community-based projects which are deem to be realistic and attainable. the idea is that if only the youth will do these in the place within reach then, and more youth will going to adopt this, then all places in the globe will have an active youth and realistic and sustainable projects:

Note: the project does have to be sustainable big as long as it is sustainable

in the long run, this movement will be like a networking, uniting youth and mentors from different parts of the globe.

with one aim, one vision, we can make a difference...(",)

a child...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

there are so much children can do--- believe me...

they are the ones who inspire us to make this earth a better world to live in...and restore what we have because there are the little creatures who will soon follow...

thus, should preserve these blessings because they deserve to experience the beauty of life and the world..

but unfortunately, a lot of children have been neglected and refused of their rights....this is where the youth can contribute...promoting and enhancing these rights

it is our sweetest responsibility to contribute in making a great leap..-for the children to see the true beauty of life...of being free- from hunger, exploitation and discrimination...and no matter how little or huge our capacity to contribute...we should bear in mind that just like the ripple..it will go a long long way...because even a smallest form of help and care matters....

let us keep that ripple going....

this is the second week of our quest for people who have passion for volunteerism and im really happy to know that there are a lot of people who are interested in this new project.

actually, this isnt my first time to handle this kind of "project". actually, for the past five months it's sorta put onl hold after the summer class that i facilitated last may. after college, i was too focused to find a job but then i realize that one's passion should not stop to prioritize the "need" thing to do. helping children in my own little ways has been the purpose of my existence and neglecting it or trying to ignore it is like getting away the "life" that i know.

i couldnt be happier to find out that evrywhere i go (since this is the "third stop"), there are a lot of youth who share the same passion.

i know throigh joint efforts, we can initiate change and we can make a brighter and a better world for these lil angels to live in...
