Description:
Preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS by educating and training underprivileged vulnerable children and Youth rural communities who cannot afford the cost of education. The project regroups such young people together into what it calls Foster Children Clubs.

Background:
The project was conceived out of OFLIC’s concern to positively impact the lives of underprivileged children who because of the impact of HIV/AIDS can’t continue school or live as healthy human beings.

Objectives:
1. Create and maintain a database of Foster Children Clubs.
2. Contact Funders (Foster Parents) for their education
3. Implement an Integrated HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health Education and Capacity building program.
4. Produce IEC materials for the clubs.
5. Organize the parents of the Foster Children in to clubs where in they contribute their own quota to the education of their children and also benefit from the Integrated HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health Education and Capacity building program.

Milestones:
The planning phase of the project was complete, funds mobilisation is ongoing and effective take off of the project is previewed for October 2008 with the partners already identified. Listen Charity, a UK based Charity has expressed intereste to financially support.

Budget:
The total budget of the project stands as 250 Millions FCFA equivalent to 500 thausand USD for a three years period.

Needs:
The project needs: voluntary Foster Parents to Fund the education of these Children.
We need Resource materials especially on HIV/AIDS.
we need vidoe and audio equipment.
we need projection equipment and General office eueipment.
we need technical assistance and documentation equipment.
we need transportation facilities.
