Description:
Political Advocacy (With focus on UNGASS and MDGs): This course will be intended to educate young people on strategies to hold their governments accountable to commitments made to the UNGASS Declaration of Commitment in 2000 and to Millennium Development Goal #6: Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases. The workshop will prepare participants for the following:
1) To create an action plan for research on government commitments to date
2) Establish solutions based on needs with a focus on youth-adult collaboration
3) Learn how to approach government officials and present those solutions effectively
4) Learn how to monitor and evaluate their work
The course will take four weeks and at least 4-6 hours/week will be required to make full use of this course.
