Background:
Project Stitch was launched in 2006 by youth in Vancouver, British Columbia. A main feature of the project was the creation of the Digital Quilt. This collaborative art piece is an homage to the Names Memorial Quilt and hopes to grow with the same success. Today there are over 300 pieces of artwork submitted by young people which share thoughts about HIV and AIDS. This quilt is already starting to travel the world to raise awareness about this important issue.
Objectives:
-raise HIV awareness and education for young people through art
-expand and grow the DIGITAL QUILT internationally.
- offer mentoring opportunities with artists to build skills and encourage youth leadership.
