Students for Penan Awareness is an awareness initiative to alert the young generation of Malaysians about the plight of the indigenous Penan people in Sarawak, East Malaysia.
Background:
The SPAP was started in September 2009 in response to news about the mistreatment of Penan people in Sarawak. Our purpose to to inform the young generation about this issue and pressure the Sarawakian government to follow its promises to the Penans.
Objectives:
To spark awareness amongst the youth of Malaysia about the Penan people, and for the young generation to lend their voices to the Penans.
