The team will attend the Minna Memorial Debate this Thursaday in order to get more insight on women and prepare ourselves for the upcoming Camp in December. It is also a good opportunity to meet other young people who care about the youth. We plan to recruit university students to assist us in the camp this December!

We have a meeting today to prepare for the Nyanza/ Western talk which will take place from March 1st to March 5th. We have 110 books so far and I think that is good but not great. Jade suggested donating sanitary towels to the girl schools so we are also looking into that today. We are targeting at least 500 books for this first talk and I believe we are well on our way. We still haven't figured out what problems the boys may be facing and what information they may need so we have to lok into that.We are finaly starting to get support for the project and I can't wait for other great ideas. Any one with suggestions??

We had our first talk high school talk today, February 2nd 2005. It was at a Nairobi private girls school. The team members each ahd a topic that they were going to discuss and prepared well for it with Charts, music and even a video on one of the topics. The school allocated us two hours during which we managed to explain the project and even get some of them involved.60 of the girls wanted to participate in the penpal system which was a major boost. There were other girls who wanted to be invloved directly.

Vision_18 attended a talk ' THE GREAT GENDER DEBATE' on 19th December 2004 at USIU.We were invited as the 'young voices'.Our thoughts and views differed greatly with some of the experts invited to talk that day. What I realised is that the youth need to be given more opportunities to air their views because they are usually very different.
This gave team mebers alot of exposure and at the end most of us agreed that we were not feminists. We were further prepared and realised that most of the time people would not agree with what we were saying. We also realise that the task ahead of informing and talking to our fellow youth is not an easy one..
Life goes on and I' even more willing to get into this head on.
