WIN Literacy is teaching women how to read and write as literacy is the door to any education.
WIN wants to create a platform and a framework for further educational initiatives like:
Training on the job and teaching of skills to be able to work in certain areas, e.g. Hairstyling, Seamstress, Secretary, etc.
Woman rights, AIDS prevention, etc…
Technology classes, further education, self education, life long learning, etc…
Improve quality of life, household management, self management, micro business management, etc…
_All future projects are subject for participation of sponsors and/or volunteers_The WIN platform will provide classrooms, marketing, advertisment and support in start up, funding and operations of the project_WIN can also provide accomodation for volunteers and donation certificates
Background:
Ghana is experiencing more and more economic growth. People moving from rural areas into the city, mainly to Accra. The education of woman still suffers in Ghana as very often. Families in rural areas do not have the money to send all kids to school and boys are preferred. Woman so very often cant finish school but still dreaming about a better life what makes them move to Accra very often.
Objectives:
Major Objective to help woman to read and write to create a basic educational platform for further education.
This education platform should not be free for students but will give those who cant afford the fees a possibility for a non cash based payment (e.g. social work)
WIN will create this platform for volunteers and teachers to realize additional classes
Milestones:
School started 2 classes a week 1 teacher. Location in Adabraka Presbyterian School every Monday and Thursday Evening
Next Milestones: Establish Formal organization and start marketing, establish volunteer organization, define procedures for new projects, document curriculum for literacy classes
