YES Namibia has implemented several different outreach and engagement programs. The Entrepreneurship in Vocational Centers program, is currently working with seventeen youth at the Zambezi Vocational Training Center to teach entrepreneurial skills. Also, reaching 200 youth, YES Namibia, along with Junior Achievement Namibia and YDN, have created the Entrepreneurship Training in Schools program, in which five schools are participating. Each school has between fifteen to twenty students working with the support of two educators and two business advisors.

About Yes Namibia Network

Yes Namibia Nework recongnises the important role each stakeholds can play i nthe promotion of youth enterprise throughout the country . the key objective of YES Namibia is to reduce high uemployment rate in Namibia by focussing on oyuth employment and interprise promotion programmes.

The network recognises that the social dynamite of oyuth unemployment can only be diffised by a comprehensive system of skils development.

At present, Hon Nahas Angula, Minister of higher Education, training and employment creation is the Patron of YEs Namibia network and the eys network members are from the

Government
Private Sectors, Tertiary Education, NGO's, local communities and community based organisation's, oyuth organisation's

since the launching in August 2002, yers namibia has made significant contributions to the Global YES campaign. The network has outline the follwoing key areas that will inspire the youth employment campaign in namibia.

Sel-employment
Renewable Energy
Micro Credit Scheme
Mentorship Programme
capacity building training workshops

Commonwealth Youth Programme

One of YES netowrk member Agnes Somses has been elected to represent Namibia at commonwealth youth activites. The recommedation was from the Deputy Mininster's office of Ministry of Higher Educuation,training and Employment Creation.

Activities carried out incollaboration with Youth Development Network

* Database on Youth Statistics in Namibia
* Knowledge Development Study
A case study has been carried out on one of successful business owned by a young person in Namibia. The pupose was to identify adn describe the ingredients of succuessful business started and run by one or more young people.

SME Workshop

Two YES Network members, Ms. C.Schwartz and
Mrs H.Amutoko facilitated a workshop on SME in Omaheke Region, Otjinene, from the 20-23 February 2004. The main objective of the workshop was on basic skills in starting a new business, such as entrepreneurial characteristics, Generating a Business Idea, SWOT Anaylysis by testing you Business Idea, ect.

The workshop was well attended by 45 participans.

Data Gathering

The YES Network is busy in collecting data on successful youth initiatives in Namibia. This database will assist the Network in identifying yough projects for further support and also to compile a file of all existing youth employment initiatives.

Hyderabad YES Regional Youth Forum

Three members from YES Namibia Network attended the Forum.

yesnetwork namibia is going to host workshop pn the youth employment summit on the 1st-2nd August 2002 in Namibia. the workshop will attended by all the state holders NGO's, youth organising. the workshop will address by Minister Nahas Angula, and Minister of trade hon Hidipo Hamutenya and the official launching will done by the Hon Nahas ANgula
