Description:
Youth Employment (Singapore) [YES] is a registered society with a mission to empower youths (age 15 - 35) with the pertinent knowledge and an untrammelled capacity to increase employability and employment opportunities. In today’s knowledge economy, the most important resource is the knowledge of what works and the ability to know how to use it. We seek to aid youths explore and determine their possible career paths, create job opportunities and enhance the pertinent skills which will undoubtedly guide and support them on their path to success and satisfaction.

Objectives:
VISION
To be Singapore's focal resource point for youths in the area of employment.

MISSION STATEMENT
To inculcate youths with entrepreneurial, leadership and interpersonal skills by empowering them with critical knowledge and life skills. Through our efforts, Singapore will develop a nation of adults attaining self-expression and work fulfillment.

APPROACH
Each person can take charge of one’s life.

OBJECTIVES
The objectives of YES are:

a) To promote the awareness of and increase the level of understanding about youth employment.

b) To represent youths on employment.

c) To help youths attain work.

d) To help youths achieve greater satisfaction in their careers.

e) To explore any other pressing issues that would affect youths finding employment.

FUNCTIONS
The functions of YES are:

a) To identify and undertake studies and research into issues relating to youth employment.

b) To collect and disseminate information relevant to youth employment to members, youths and the general public.

c) To develop publications, publications, resources, databases, and initiatives necessary to fulfill YES’ general objectives.

d) To provide opportunities for youths to increase their employability.

e) To work with diverse stakeholders to implement effective strategies to generate employment for youth.

Needs:
Volunteers based in Singapore.
Global and local network partners.
Funding.
