Background:
What is YouthPolitik?
Initiated by the Mayor’s office, the YouthPolitik program provides the opportunity for up to 75 youth to participate in a series of weekly workshops, dialogues, skills building activities, face to face sessions with elected officials, and a Model City Council Session to learn about and experience municipal government and explore issues that our city faces.
YouthPolitik is an innovative program that started in 2006. It is designed by the City of Vancouver, Park Board, School Board, Library, the youth community and youth in the community. YouthPolitik provides young Vancouverites with an opportunity to explore issues that our city faces, build leadership skills and get hands-on experience in municipal governance, politics and project development.
This year, YouthPolitik is bigger and brighter with an expanded program, some exciting new components and a new start time.

How to apply?
If you are between the ages of 15 – 20 and live in the city of Vancouver, we encourage you to apply for yourself or to nominate somebody who you think will benefit from participating in YouthPolitik 2008.
Fill out an application form and send it to us by Friday February 1st at 5:00pm
