And yet, the promise of sustainable development remains bright.
By creating economic growth, African entrepreneurs are proving to be at the heart of that promise, and a key weapon in the fight against poverty.
These are their stories.
Background:
Our website, http://www.evancarmichael.com, is the world's #1 site for small business motivation and strategies. Among the authors who write for our site are Donald Trump, Michael Gerber, Zig Ziglar, Seth Godin, Jay Conrad Levinson, Guy Kawasaki, and more.
We have launched a new section entitled, "African Accounts: Sustainable Development Through Entrepreneurship." We want to bring to the attention of our thousands of readers the vast range of entrepreneurial activity occurring across the continent, including the successes, the failures, the lessons learned, and the importance of it all.
Objectives:
We currently have some of the top experts on entrepreneurship in Africa writing for our site, but we are looking for more. If you would like to contribute your articles and have them read by thousands of entrepreneurs, please join this project.
We are also looking for new ideas to help raise awareness about business and entrepreneurs in Africa. From profiles of African businesses to offering free resources, we need your help to create a site that serves as a one-stop spot for everything to do with entrepreneurship in Africa.

July 25, 2007 - some of the top experts on entrepreneurship in Africa agree to be an author on our site, including Benin Mwangi, G. Kofi Annan, and Erik Hersman.
July 17, 2007 - African Accounts: Sustainable Development Through Entrepreneurship website launches.
