Description:
AFRIK SOLAR STUDIO is set to become Africa's first solar-powered eco-studio, with recording facilities for both visual and audio formats.
This project is set to to make the most out of solar power and other micro generation technologies. The project will be a pilot for artists and young entrepreneurs in the developing nations on how businesses can use renewable energy and modern technology to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions and save money. Afrik
Solar Studio will help the community to be more energy efficient and to source their energy from renewable sources.
Background:
At a time of searing economic hardships for companies and ordinary Zimbabweans, a serious shortage of electricity is the last thing that the country can afford and the responsible authorities are not acting quickly and decisively to deal with this looming crisis. the artists have not been spared as the unending power cuts continue to affect several recording studios across the country. there is a looming fuel shortage and very few studios have alternative power generators at all.
It is no secret that the Zimbabwe Electricity Authority (ZESA) company faces major obstacles in its attempts to come to grips with its problems: the country is battling a serious hard cash squeeze that is partly responsible for ZESA’s failure to meet its foreign commitments in procuring and settling debts for electricity procured from neighbouring states.
In addition, the parastatal has been hard hit by the suspension of financial assistance from international organisations such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund because of concerns with the erosion of the rule of law and property rights, as well as the government’s fiscal policy.
In view of the unending energy crisis , and in trying to provide an answer to the recording studio situation, i have decided to start this Afrik Solar Studio project, whose model can be used in other parts of the country or Africa at large in using solar to power an all inclusive recording studio.
