Alp Uganda Hope for children is a grassroot initiative dedicated to finding future for HIV/AIDS orphans and positive living children. Our programme is run by a group of volunnteer and is part of ALp group of organisation. A number of programmes has been undertaken by ALp in the field of poverty alleviation, environmental protection and promoting health and status of women.
It's our desire calling and destiny to fight the stigma among children and hope to work in partnership with other friendly for the future of chlidren. Involving children will creat a world of non violence, friendship and brotherhood. In reference our desire to fight completely racism is deeply rooted in the organizational programme.
Background:
Alp Uganda Hope for Children is a junior initiative of Arua Literacy Programme for Development. An initiative formed the 15 January 2001 and has been steered by a group of volunteers. Arua Literacy programme for Development is a legal registered Community Based Organization with Ministry of Gender and Social Development (CBO) to facilitate literacy programmes among youths, women and disabled through skill training and general knowledge.
The organisation is six years old in existence and has implemented a number of programmes with the groups listed above.
Objectives:
Our organisational objectives are.
1. To help orphaned and positive living through provision of scholastic materials, counselling and guidance services and health education.
2. To develop capacity of women through reading, counting and general knowledge.
3. To encourage utilization of health services by children and programme beneficiaries.
Budget:
Our yearly budget is meagre considering the inadquate financial support. Mainly our sources of incomes come from craft making, slab making, brick laying and community saving. Estimate of about $1500
