let get it started!

Hi all, i only found this project today. I think it is an awesome idea. It is much needed. i work with kids a lot at church and many other places. And i have decided that it doesn't take much to make them smile, Heck, by a 'big kid' taking time out of their busy schedules to just talk to them, it makes them feel so incredibly special and just makes their day. We should never underestimate the influence that we as teenagers and adults have on young children. I propose that instead of starting out fast and heading straight into hospitals we send letters and emails. Because it:
1. gets hospitals used to the idea of 'strangers' coming in and spending time with the kids.
2. they stay as constant reminders to the children that there are people all over the world thinking of them
3. give us the chance to cheer them up while all the mambo jumbo about hospitals not liking us coming in gets cleared up.
4. Is a slow, but steady beginning to everything that this project is hoping to achieve. Everything has a beginning!
I am sorry if for any reason this will not work. But i feel that hospitals aren't quite ready for constant visitors. We can make them smile just by decorating a piece of paper maybe even only on occasions like christmas and easter etc. but nontheless it does make a difference.
I apologise for this long post, Thanks for reading, Jen
