Remnant Empowerment Youth Group [R.E.Y-G] is a non-profit making organization that was formed early 2003 with its aims of empowering the youths in the Education, Gospel and Skills, Care giving to HIV victims, to promote care for the orphans [OVCs], Developing Health Self Concept, Meeting/Solving the Spiritual problems in which man is entangled in, improve the living standard of the community and the economy among others objectives.
Background:
Remnant Empowerment Youth Group [R.E.Y-G] is a non-profit making organization that was formed early 2003 with its aims of empowering the youths in the Education, Gospel and Skills, Care giving to HIV victims, to promote care for the orphans [OVCs], Developing Health Self Concept, Meeting/Solving the Spiritual problems in which man is entangled in, improve the living standard of the community and the economy among others objectives. R.E.Y.G is a registered group with the Ministry of Gender, Sports Culture, and Social Services in September 2006, Kenya. The group was formed as a result of the increase of youths in the church [Remnant Mission Church] and mostly who were Orphans – OVC’s, HIV victims and thus resulting to School drop out among other sophisticated problems. The group intends to improve the living standard of the community through Creating/Building up a Library Centre / A learning Institution to create a reading habit among the Children, Youths and even Adults, the project also intends to set up an ICT Centre and bring about equality amongst communities in formal and informal settlements through proportional education in Social, Economic, Environmental and Governance.
It seeks excellence and constantly inspires others to offer sound, time-tested direction casing the unquestionable wisdom into an indispensable tool of helping the youth and the entire community at large to make the right choices.
Objectives:
To contribute towards improving the economic standards through internet based initiatives by the government and the private sector.
To supplement other means of communication by using the electronic mail and telephony using voice over the internet protocol, which is even considerably cheaper across the globe as compared to other means of communication.
To improve E-business/E-commerce, done over the internet.
To provide entertainment such as computer games, sports, movies, music, net meetings and chat groups, over the internet thus reducing idleness among the youths.
To serve as a source of employment for income generation
