Bangladesh is a developing country.Todays world depends upon information and communication technology.
Bangladesh is also included with ICT.To cope up with the modern world; the use of information technology is must.
There are 85,650 villages here and most people live in the villages. The uses of information technology are very limited.
Most of the people even don’t know what is ICT.They don’t use the internet. They don’t have any knowledge about computer.
Bangladesh Village Computer Association (BVCA) is a youths computer association fighting for the ICT rights of rural socity.
From grass root level they first took steps to make people aware about computer and internet.
They first arranged computer fair in villages.
To build up awareness about the application of computer in people they workshop every year.
They are trying to establish computer and internet connection in every village.
They want to make relationship between rural people with information and communication technology.
They also help people to open their e-mail account who don’t know the use of internet.
BVCA are gathering youths from all over the Bangladesh.
This year BVCA is taking another step for ICT development in Bangladesh.
BVCA is going to arrange a 2 days computer fair at Sher-e-Bangla railway high school (kamalapur) on 19th and 20th
may, 2005 in order to enrich the information technology and to remove digital division at the grass root level and here & there in the city.
They have come forward with a slogan “projuktir gane shommriddhir pane amar Bangladesh” to develop the technology in Bangladesh.
Local commissioner (Sazzad Hussain Siddiqui Lavlu) will extend full co-operation with the mass visitors and participants.
In order to attract much people and participants of different institutions, the distribution system of the fair has been grouped into 3 categories namely-stall, mini pavilion and pavilion.
Besides selling exhibition of new technologies, workshops, seminars, debate, quiz, meetings have been arranged for everyday with the participation of national accepted people and journalists of different sectors.
To make the fair successful, prizes will be distributed on the basis of commodity and quality to stalls, media and events in different sectors.
Only computer hardware, software, education, internet service giving agency, educational, multimedia including information technology institutions are invited to contact on first come first service basis.
