Description:
The Canadian youth WSIS strategy has been constructed around the general framework proposed by the WSIS Youth Caucus in its Guide to Creating Your Own National Youth Campaign. While geared at the full range of youth in Canada (age 16-30), particular effort will be given to engaging young people under age 24 in these processes, as they often have fewer opportunities and less regional/national exposure.
Key areas of activity will involve collecting youth input through cross-Canada consultations and electronic consultations. Additionally, a workshop will be held to develop concrete recommendations for refinements to Canadian domestic policies influencing the emergence of an equitable and sustainable information society and for Canadian positions on the international WSIS statement of principles and action plan.
