Canadian Aboriginal Connections

Canadian Aboriginal youth in cities and remote areas share ideas and experiences, and connect to opportunities that give them visibility to create positive change. (Learn more)

Climate Change Policy: Youth Take Action

Designed to impact international environmental policy and establish Canadian youth as a key voice nationally and globally on the subject of climate change. This project is in partnership with the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition. The Climate Change Guide To Action is available at our recently launched climate change page.

Bandwidth 4 Belonging

In this project, supported by Planned Lifetime Advocacy Network, young people with disabilities are brought together to explore the task of ending isolation and loneliness. The workshops took place in Richmond, BC; Regina, SK; St. John's, NL; and St. Catherine's, ON. (Learn more)

Language as Violence, Violence as Language

Sixty underserved Greater Toronto Area youth were equipped with analytical, leadership and technology skills, and developed effective alternative "languages to violence." This project was funded by the Laidlaw Foundation. (Learn more)

To create a sustainable TIG community and local youth leadership, TIG holds capacity building sessions for youth leaders and organizations. With these resources at your finger tips, you can support a growing movement of youth taking action to better their communities!

Social Networking for Social Change (New this year!)

Get geared up! These sessions will train individuals and organizations on our NEW Social Networking for Social Change guide. These sessions provide an opportunity for youth and youth organizations in your community to network and learn about leveraging technology for social change.

Guide to Action

This workshop gives young people the tools, direction and inspiration they need to take action on community issues. It is easily adapted to different groups and varying issues of any interest. Examples of modules include Digital Citizenship and the Environment, with online and offline curriculum. These workshops can be delivered with youth serving agencies and targets audiences aged 8-15.

The Right to be Heard: Youth Empowerment Workshops — with support from Canadian Heritage

"The Right to be Heard"—Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is used to promote youth empowerment across Canadian communities.

Open Forums

The Open Forum format allows participants to gather in a safe space to discuss issues relevant to them, and makes TIG's resources more accessible to young people with limited or no internet access.
