hi everyone,

for friends who were on the chat, you know that i am spending the summer in europe. so april was not only busy but very exciting. i plan to take TIG to europe with me, hopefully promote TIG in a way that i was able to do in norway.

in april (and first week of may) i was able to do 2 workshops and have a detailed meeting with a group of teachers on the tools avaiable on TIGed.

premier danny williams of newfoundland and labrador also invited TIG to a meeting where he appreciated the work of the volunteer community of the province.

i am sad to see CLC end - for now. but i hope all of us can stay in touch.

cheers!

Salut à tous et à toutes,
Hi CLCers !

April has been a busy and exciting month here in Montreal.

Justine, ilyes and I organized different activities:
- An open forum where we had 8 participants including CWY alumni and staff. We discussed about environment, leadership and how CWY programs can become more environmentally-friendly.
- We also organized our last Francophone Live Chat.
- We participated in different events like the Open Forum organized by l’Institut du Nouveau Monde about the challenges that we face in Quebec, the economic crisis and some solutions. There were some famous guest speakers like Steven Guilbeault, co-founder of Équiterre and Françoise David from Quebec Solidaire.
- Ilyes and I also participated in the Regional Event organized by the Forum Jeunesse de l’Île de Montréal.

Concerning my online engagement, I added 10 organizations to the TIG website and I contacted them, so they can own their organization page in the future.

Finally, I want to thank you all (CLC Coordinators + RTF + Kimia and Mai) for your commitment to CLC, your dynamism, your passion and ambition. My experience with CLC has been fantastic and very enriching since the very beginning on January 1st, 2008 and that is because of every component of CLC especially the people. Good luck in your future endeavours and projects and keep in touch !

All the best,
Yassir

Hey everybody! I can’t believe this will be my last blog for CLC! April has been an exciting and busy month, trying to wrap everything up and making sure as much as possible that projects are sustainable. This month I did 2 social networking workshops, 2 climate change workshops, and a couple modules of change that clicks. I’m really excited for an event tomorrow that’s going to bring together 500 jr. high students to talk and learn about peace. It’s too bad that CLC is wrapping up, I feel like I’m really starting to make solid connections with many young people and organizations. I guess that’s the great thing about TIG-so many of the resources are online there is still a lot to tap into even when there is not a local contact person. It was really great to meet all of you and keep in touch! Jess

Hey team! I hope everyone’s April has gone well and that for those of you in university you’ve survived exams and all that fun stuff. A lot has been going on in Ottawa, so I thought I’d drop a line to keep you all informed. Last night I attended an event at the St. Bridgid’s Community Centre. It was a conversation between former Governor General Adrienne Clarkson and historian Margaret Macmillan. Though it was interesting it was not about the uses and abuses of history as the programme claimed. They talked a lot about how things have changed in Canada and how in the late 1950s (1959 I think) women were not allowed in the history club at the University of Toronto and there was a whole university centre donated by the Massey family that women were not welcome in except for at dances. They even talked about how Kennedy (before he was president) when he came to the UofT for a debate, women were not going to be allowed in. Though women were allowed in after some serious lobbying, there was still a quota because they didn’t want the event to turn into buffoonery. Earlier in the month Lynne and I did two workshops at the Jane Goodall Roots and Shoots Conference held at Algonquin College. One was climate change guide to action and the other was on social networking for social change. Due to a room mix-up we had double the participants for the second workshop than we were expecting but it still went really well. That evening Lynne and I returned for a very interesting and inspirational talk by Dr. Jane Goodall. She spoke a lot about how she got her start and I wouldn’t be surprised in 30 years from now to see some of you guys coming to conferences as distinguished guest speakers. This week I have been helping Mai with compiling some Ontario stats and also just doing some wrap up meetings with different partner organizations. It’s weird to be wrapping up. These past two years have gone by really really fast.

Hey everyone!
Whew, well I've just finished exams (yay!) and I feel like I'm returning to normal life now. I've been working on a last push to show TIG's presence here in Edmonton...lots of email correspondence with groups (since that's been what's worked best for me over the past few weeks). It's been really fantastic for me seeing how many people have heard of TIG, it makes me feel like all the outreach I've done over the past several months has actually had an impact!

I'm gearing up for one last series of workshops - Change That Clicks. I'm excited to do something with a younger group of youth because I haven't been able to do that yet as the AB YEG. I'll keep you updated on how it goes!

Cheers!
Daniella
