Stakeholder Gathering...
I had mentioned this to Kimia but I'd like to have all of your thoughts on this as well...
I'd like to have a session bringing together groups who would use our site and find it effective for themselves and their organization. I was thinking a morning coffee in January with an introduction and/or overview of the site.
Better yet - an eluminate session with local people! Thoughts?
What do you all think?
November in Thunder Bay
I'm really glad I connected with the Change Our World group because we planned an interangency meeting where TIG was on the panel to discuss Creating Local Connections and I think this recruited a lot of Thunder Bay members as the membership is up. We also did a presentation to City Council which was great because now it's realistic that City Counsellors will come to our events. It was a perfect fit and I will continue working with this group to plan monthly workshops in the New Year.
I was able to connect with a lot of people at the conferences I went to out of Thunder Bay because many have already heard about TIG and done partnerships in the past. I was glad I made it knows I was from TIG at the beginning and that welcomed many people to discussing either past initiatives or future prospects. I can't wait until the same carries as much weight in Thunder Bay.
Really listening to what has been said at the meetings and communications, I'm ready to plan for the New Year and inspire, inform, and involve people in my community!
Just thought I'd update you on an excellent meeting that I had this evening with Nikki, our Ottawa Youth Engagement Coordinator. Stay tuned for some great stuff for the Ottawa crowed starting in the New Year!!
We, and I should say mostly Nikki, are planning some great events that will cohesively tie the TakingITGlobal.org portal with our local "on the ground" youth engagement. It's a two for one deal!! Can anyone say, "oh ya!"
Stay tuned! Have a great holiday and we will rock you in the New Year!!

Hey everyone!
Just letting you know what's going on here in New Brunswick. I am in the process of planning a Climta Change Workshop in my old high school. And I am aslo trying to get two open forums in the works; one for rural youth and the other for Aboriginal youth all in the Miramichi area. I am excited and my goal is to have everuthing done by Christmas. I was also able to make a local contact, someone who I would like to do a possible workshop with in the future here in Saint John about poverty and youth, which is a problem here. Well, I guess that's it for now. I'll keep updating when I get everything finalized!
Best,
Allison
Hey guys, some other news I figured I`d post.
With a "Be the Change" (BTC) group at a local high school, F.H. Collins, we`ve developed a "sister school" in Afghanistan, with whom we will be communicating with, sharing stories and resources with each other! -- That is one of the ongoing projects we`re working on, and is sure to generate some powerful ideas and inspirations from!! I`m excited!
This relationship, between me/TIG and the BTC group has reminded me the power in simple networks, like with school social groups!
