Au début de la semaine dernière, j'ai reçu un drôle d'appel téléphonique. Dans le cadre de la Journée internationale de la femme, j'ai été contactée afin de me proposer de passer une journée entière en compagnie d'une femme ministre du gouvernement du Québec. Alors on m'a dit que je n'avais qu'à me présenter au cabinet de madame la ministre Margerite Blais à Québec vendredi matin. l'horaire de la journée était que l'on allait passé une partie de l'avant-midi à Québec afin de participer à des entrevues journalistiques et qu'en après-midi, on allait s'envoler vers Rouyn-Noranda, y poursuivre nos travaux et enfin reprendre l'avion en fin de journée pour rentrer à Montréal. Je me suis donc levée à 4h30 du matin afin d'être en mesure d'être sur les lieux le plus tôt possible étant donné que je partais de Montréal pour me rendre à Québec. Une fois arrivée, on m'a avisée que, étant donné les mauvaises conditions météorologiques, nous n'allions pas quitter le sol ce jour-là! Alors au lieu de prendre l'avion avec madame la ministre, j'ai plutôt passé la journée à l'Assemblée nationale. J'ai été conduite à Montréal par madame la ministre, son chauffeur et ses attachés, en fin de journée.
Voilà pour ma journée de la femme ;-)

Bonjour tout le monde,
Le mois de mars est maintenant bien entamé. Ça fait un bout de temps que je n'ai pas écris sur ce blogue, mes excuses. Je me rattrape maintenant, car j'ai l'intention d'en rédiger deux d'un coup! Alors voilà il y a un peu plus d'une semaine, soit le 27-28 février dernier, j'ai été invitée à une rencontre pan-Atlantique organisée par un groupe de femmes désireuses de devenir agents de changements. J'ai été invitée dans le but de parler du Guide à l'action de TIG, et je crois que cet atelier a eu du succès. I am sooo glad that it is March, and we are finally through the worst of winter! This past month has dumped a wallop of snow on Nova Scotia, forcing me to cancel 2 workshops I had been excited to run, and a few events I had been hoping to attend on TIGs behalf were cancelled as well, which was a bummer. The most exciting thing to happen this month was the establishment of a partnership between Sun Life Financial Chair in Adolescent Mental Health and TIG to create a Guide to Action on mental health. I can’t wait to get started working on the guide, which will include ways to take action on mental health on a personal level by maintaining mental health, but also how to take action in your community and around the globe on this under recognized, stigmatized issue. This month I also plan to explore further ways TIG and Katimavik can support each other, prepare for the open forums, and try to find organizations interested in a web 2.0 workshop. Hey,
This month we certainly learnt a lot about planning! Unfortunately the ChangeThatClicks After-School Program in Timmins did not work out due to a number of miscommunications, but it has been rescheduled for March. Nikki and I will be doing a CTC program in Ottawa.
I have also been doing a lot of work with the Youth Steering Committe for the Ontario Youth Challenge (National Volunteer Week). Mostly we are helping with social networking/outreach, and I have added it as an event and group on TIG.

Greetings from Montreal,
January has been an exciting month here in Montreal, one of my key achievements was my meeting with Sebastien Lemire during my visit to the Forum Jeunesse de l'îLE de Montréal, if you want to read a blog about this meeting and to know more about the partnership between CLC and FJIM, visit: http://yassirovich.tigblog.org/post/583303 (CLC WIGs: ENGAGEMENT and REACH)
An other key achievement was our Francophone Live Chat on January 31st (CL WIG: ACTION), we had many participants and a dynamic guest speaker from the CENTRE DE LA FRANCOPHONIE DES AMÉRIQUES, we had also TIG staff and alumni who joined us from different countries like Simon Gargonne from France or Sessi from Montreal !
I also attended 2 interesting events where I distributed CLC flyers and my business cards and introduced TIG and CLC to a lot of Montreal University students: (CLC WIG: REACH)
- Michael Ignatieff in HEC Montreal on January 21st: it was a wonderful event !
- Justice Marie Deschamps from the Supreme Court in Montreal University: how to organize a successful presentation ? : very interesting presentation too !
Concerning my objectives for February:
1- Contact Lloydee Chrispin from YouthScape and plan a meeting for the first week of March, invite her to our NATIONAL LIVE CHAT and suggest ideas fro partnership (almsot finished :))- CLC WIG: REACH
2- Meet with Justine and Ilyes in the National Library in Montreal this weekend to discuss about our partnership with Canada World Youth, our next Francophone Live Chat, activities and goals !- CLC WIG: ENGAGEMENT
One of my challenges is organizing my time effectively and I am addressing this challenge by different means:
- Planning my activities well in advance
- Keeping a diary (agenda or organizer)
