Dear Alphonso

I agree with you that some of us, eg /myself/ do not know how to use the project page.I think we should prepare a little manual on in it and past it on our Tig page.It will really help each and everyone of us.

Dear Kobele,

I hope you understood what I stated in my inputs in regard to the advisory board meeting. I think it good to make this clear, I said considering the signifcance of the meeting in relation to discussion pressing issues concernning CLCWA- project, it is expendient that we meet as advisory member for first time to a particular place to discuss/tackle things properly.

The reason is simple, up to present some of our colleagues are still confuss as to how to use the project-page which is important for this project. Than the question is will these members be in the possition of using the internet at this time for meeting? Therefore, I will again suggest that, we should all met at a place where we will interface to discuss and resovlve on issues concerning this project. Kobele, I wish you will see reason in this login, after which time we will began the internet resources.

Thanks very much for the concerns which off course needs our inputs as advisors. May are first commend on the issues of some members of the advisory network finding it difficult to use the CLC WA project-page and that we should use the email as a means of sharing information. However, it is good, but let us understands that our responsibility is holistic in sharing information, that is with our member in the network as well as those that involve in the project. Additionally, we are to share relevant information and resources with people who are not a member of the network as relate to what is going on in our constituency and such it is important to use the project-page for information sharing.

In response to the inputs on the 5 issues which are of great interest to strengthening local youth-led initiatives and organization in respect to enhancing the CLCWA project in the sub-region.
I wish to begin with the issues of CLCWA Advisory board meeting. I will suggest/advise that the meeting be held in Sierra Leone or Nigeria. Reason being that, this is the first meeting and there are some significant things needs to be discuss, tacked or resolve such as: ICT connectivity research and advocacy, Timeline, Award process and TakingITGlobal authenticity. More beside, it will effort us the opportunity as Advisory member to interface for the first time considering the pressing issues. As per the date of the meeting, it should be in the first week in May, 2007 for purpose of adequate preparation.

- With the issues of TakingITGlobal authenticity concerning scams on the sit by some individual who place fake events/projects to claim money from TIG user. I think that fraudulent in nature and that anyone who is found in such an act should dealt with legally. Also there should be some mechanism put in place to resolve this attitude that is whenever anyone posts events/projects on the sit it should be scrutinize by a team of IT specialist at TIG office’s in Canada before approving same.

- The idea of Award process in regard to young participant being rewarded for their submission of a social enterprise development plan or a media art piec is really in the right direction and the prize attached to it. I believe this could be done firstly by conducting training programs/workshops that will give the young people managerial skills to start up-off the enterprise.

- Timeline is an essential because to some extend we have left behind some things that needs to be address as soon as possible. As per the African sitting, the realities are different especially in the 5 countries that are to benefit from the CLCWA project. For example, Liberia has just emerged from 14 years civil unrest that nearly destroyed all of our human resource and infrastructure and such to have things started will need a lot of effort time and funds. The poverty rate is too high that young people not just want to listing to anyone with out some compensation for what they are benefit from, because they have to do things to substance themselves. Event IT is a new to Liberia and as such, using internet/email facilitates cost a lot of money, thereby creating the issue of delay in responding to communication immediately. Finally, will suggest that all advisory network members should be direct compensation from CLCWA global Office, so as to evolve these impediments.

Lastly, having read carefully through the project description documents, I have realized the significance of this ICT connectivity research and advocacy and that there should be some emphasis on this component of the project in order to achieve its objectives in the 5 Countries. Presently, I have understood with great dismay that this component is yet to be clarified, since we are already in the activity cycle. I will advise that in regard to the Global Coordinator contact with an International Organization Balance Act that is specialized in IT, we could take advantage of the opportunity to work with them to in order to develop the program in the various Countries.

The TakingITGlobal team has just sent out a mass email to all of its active young members in the west African region. It was meant to invite local members to join the initiative but also to promote the translation team and warn about bogus events and projects on the site.
