Good morning, bonjour, hola !!
I hope that this blog finds you all well and I am only happy to 'blog' with the rest of you all.
Upon reading the blogs i found that i got the impression that not only was this an 'ambitious' project but it was also one that needed careful attention to. i must say that seeing that most of you have primary responsibilities elsewhere, it is important to remember that we were chosen (as the 'best and brightest' for this position,on the advisory committe, we therefore have to encourage each other, rememeber the vision and hold each other and ourselves accountable for the task(s) underlined and expected of us. On a whole, I agree that the project may seem daunting but its also as important to look at the little parts that comprise and make up the big picture as we don't want to succom to the 'undermanagement epidemic' (www.rainmakerthinking.com) as its costly. Leaders it is very important to clarify expectations, train and develop not only yourselves but your staff and be able to put systems in place where accountability on performance is constantly being bought to the forefront. I am not by any means telling you how to run the show, im just sharing what i learned through some of my courses. The instructors couldn't stress these points enough- and Francis has been doing a great job in bringing the group together on the website and notifying us (i got the hint!) and i think that once we have all put on the same hats, so to speak, we'll be able to move together more progressively and positively towards the goals set.
It seems that we are all there! and its great to feel the energy over this whole 'blog' thing...(im telling you, this technology is something else!!lol)
I also have to say that one thing that strikes me already is how much emphasis this project/advisory comittee is putting on relationship building. I think there are only a few things more important in a project that building networks and team chemistry! Way to go!
Enjoy today!!

April, 1st month of CLCWA activity has arrived! Things moving foward as they should. I can now say we are right in the middle of the national coordinator's orientation/action plan development process. For some countries, it is almost a done thing, others are in the middle of it. We are getting there, lets keep it up! Great work everyone!

'Gbenga Sesan
Dear all:
Thanks for your interest in, and support for, the CLCWA project. After setting all necessary work in progress, I have now read through the entire blog posts and will move on to the discussion board to answer a few questions that have been posed there.
I'm 'Gbenga Sesan, and with Paradigm Initiative Nigeria which is the implementing project partner in Nigeria. CLCWA is another opportunity for us to drive the Youth/ICTs agenda forward in Nigeria (something we've grown to love since 2001), and I'm glad that Jerry is already getting to work -- and also that we have 3 passionate people on the advisory team from Nigeria.
With these in place, and the POSITIVE support of everyone, we can use this project as another opportunity to inch closer to bringing better livelihoods to youth through ICTs. The project is ambitious, there will be challenges... but, in all, we will be able to maximise the evident opportunities and hopefully have concrete results that will speak for themselves.
Welcome to the team that will passionately take forward the process, and all comments are very welcome. I trust that my other colleagues in the 4 other countries will speak up when they raise their heads from the ground-breaking work we've been doing for a while now.
Stay tuned...
