The Commons Forum are a youth conference about the great challenges of our time. During three days young people from all over the world will listen to inspiring lectures, participate in interactive workshop and interact with others with the same dream as themselves.
The first forum will be held in Sweden and be on the theme "Rethink The Future".
Background:
We are currently in the largest change in society since the industrial revolution. Globalization, the growing wealth and population have lead to a new point in our history. We suddenly have the fait of the world in our hands, and we where´t prepared for it! The challenges we faces have been created by combining old time thinking with new time tools. And to give forthcoming generation a fair chance we need to rethink our actions and take back the control of the future.
And we´re on our way! During the last 20 years, our knowledge of the changes in the world have raised to a unimaginable level. Today we can see the links and the challenges ahead. And in the same time, behind the headlines, the creative solutions to our challenges are being developed. But to create the change we need, more people will have to build a sustainable generation, that will have the courage to look at the big picture and act for the best of humanity, not to please short time interests and trends.
The Commons Forums vision are too be a way to link the different aspects of sustainability, amplify the solutions and foster the next generation to become leaders for change and take back the control of our destiny.
