Jun 19th, 2008 - 15:28:40 | Giorgio Tinelli
Hey everyone, the application form is finally available in the document section !
And now...a couple of suggestions:
1) The applications will have to be sent at internship@takingitglobal.org
2) Please, provide all the information required...the more specific..the better !
Thank you for the interest in this project !

And now some announcements…

1. Many have emailed me to ask for a copy of the application package, but as I have already written in my first blog post, it is currently not available. The package will be uploaded here in mid-June, so come back often to find out more about our updates!

2. If you want to exchange messages with each other, please use this address, communityconnector@groups.takingitglobal.org which is the mailing-list address for the Community Connector Group Page. The Community Connector Project Page (the one you are reading) is used by TIG staff to post documents and announcements.

3. If you have any questions about this program, or want to get in touch with us, please use this NEW email address: internship@takingitglobal.org
This will allows us to keep track of your messages more easily!

Thanks,
Chiara

Hi everyone,

I have received many emails from members asking for more information so I thought I’d write another blog entry to clarify some points...

The first one is that the Community Connector internship is an opportunity available ONLY to youth living in certain countries. For the first year, we want to focus only on specific regional areas so please make sure you read the list below to know if you can apply for this position.

AFRICA: Senegal, Mali, Benin, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda
= 7 countries/coordinators

EUROPE: Poland (2), Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany (2), Austria, Greece, Romania, Netherlands (2), Belgium, UK (4), Ireland (2), Spain (2), France (2), Portugal, Iceland, Italy, Turkey (3), Russia (4)
= 21 countries/36 coordinators

LATIN AMERICA: Mexico (3), Colombia (2), Venezuela, Brazil (3), Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina (2), Paraguay, Uruguay
= 11 countries/16 coordinators

CENTRAL AMERICA & CARIBBEAN: Hondoruas, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama,
Guyana, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Barbados.
= 11 countries/11 coordinators

The numbers in brackets indicate the number of positions open per country. Where there is no bracket, this means that we are only looking for one intern from that country. The total is 43 countries and 70 coordinators.

I will upload our updated map very soon, so make sure to come back to check it out!

Rest assured though that this doesn’t mean that TIG is ignoring the rest of you that are from other parts of the world! There are always many ways for you to get involved in our on-line community. Being an active member of TIG already gives you the chance to find out more about exciting events and opportunities (see our Browse Resources section), get in touch with amazing individuals who are making a difference in their community (read our Member Stories, member blog posts or discussion boards, for example) and you can personally make a difference by starting a group/project page, a petition and much more! To get an idea of the many ways you can be involved on TIG, I encourage you to check out our site map, where you will find a complete list of our tools and services divided by our six major components. http://www.takingitglobal.org/sitemap.html

Also, we have several programs going on in other parts of the world, so if you want to find out more, click on the links below.
