Fundraising: What Makes UWC So Special?

What Makes UWCs So Special Anyway?
United World Colleges (UWC) is the only global educational movement which brings together students from all over the world at pre-university level (or tertiary level in the case of one College), regardless of their ability to pay. Students are selected on merit and live together in an environment designed to foster international understanding, tolerance and peace.
Why are UWC alumni different from someone who went to Eton College in the UK? What are they doing now? How are they making a difference? What is unique about the education that they received?
I would like to hear stories from your own lives or stories of your classmates and UWC friends, ideally from Costa Rica and/or other Central American countries.
These stories and accounts will form a foundation upon which to build a successful fundraising campaign. It is only when we can convince donors that UWCs deliver much more than just excellent students that we will be able to secure lot more funds for scholarships as well as programming here in Costa Rica.
I look forward to hearing from you all!
Ciao,
Honza
