Description:
Climate change is one of the biggest global challenges facing our generation today. As those who will inherit the consequences of decisions made today, young people are key stakeholders in this process and must have a strong and informed voice. We believe that young people are key to solving the climate crisis and have an incredible amount of energy, creativity and passion to contribute to positive, sustainable and just solutions.
Background:
The Canadian Youth Delegation is an initiative of the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition (CYCC) and TakingITGlobal that aims to facilitate and deepen the engagement of Canadian youth in the international climate change negotiations process.
Comprised of Meredith James (Saskatoon, SK) and PJ Partington (Toronto, ON), CYD-Bonn is a two-person team working at the UNFCCC negotiations in Bonn, Germany (SB28, AWG-KP5, AWG-LCA2). We hope to provide a lot of engaging and accessible daily reporting from the meetings, as well as helpful background information, interviews and articles to contribute to the growing capacity of the Canadian youth climate movement on international processes at this critical stage leading up to Copenhagen.
