OUR FIRST PODCAST!
Hey everyone, we've launched our first podcast in the Bonn Dispatches series as well as some more posts (coming within the hour) on our sister Blog page: http://tigblog.org/group/cydbonn (also linked, at left).
The podcast is an interview with fellow young delegate Bard Lahn, from Friends of the Earth Norway (pictured). Check it out! More to come soon.

Introducing P.J.:
Hey everyone. For those who know me, I do text to get a bit excited by bracketed text (or in this case, a daily programme).
I've been fortunate enough to have been a part of the CYD project for several years now - since its first delegation to COP12 in Nairobi. Slowly but surely I'm learning how this beast works! The international negotiating process, I mean. Hopefully I can help by sharing some of this newfound understanding. Keep an eye on this blog as we decode everything for you.
I'm based in Toronto where I manage climate file at TakingITGlobal. I'm also lucky to work a lot with the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition (CYCC) and the Climate Action Network (CAN-RAC).
I am secretly afraid of duotangs.

Meredith James
I am a law student in the big flat (i.e. Saskatchewan) who likes bicycles and gardens. In my life before law school I was a campaigner with the Sierra club of Canada working on energy issues in Alberta. I came to Bonn as a rep for the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition hoping to be inspired. Not by Canadian government action (ha!), but by the potential for change at the international level and ways to integrate lobbying at different levels of government. Each level - municipal, provincial, federal and international - has a different area of responsibility and influence on the other levels. I am looking for ways that we can effectively coordinate our efforts, and our movement, to push the levels of government to push each other to take meaningful action.
While we're in Bonn, PJ and I will be working on a youth guide to participation in the international meetings. I'm excited that this guide could be an awesome tool for help prep future participants. I know there are lots of people out there who haven't yet imagined themselves attending a UN negotiation. I hope that this guide will show you that any of us can be here, just as any of us can have an impact. All it takes is commitment to change and a bit of patience with acronyms and technical documents.
I look forward to seeing your blog from the next international climate change negotiation!

We're Alive!!
Yes, this is the unofficial "prequel" to the MOST AWESOME BLOG EVER.
As a quick test before we kick this into high gear we will share with you a photo of our sleep-deprived departure from Toronto airport. After a day of rest and prep in Frankfurt and a Climate Action Network strategy session yesterday we are now on the ground in Bonn at the negotiations. (I'm sitting in the AWG-KP plenary right now). Not sure what on earth I'm talking about? Perfect! We've been working on a lovely Glossary to help you decode and understand the Acronym Soup of international negotiaspeak (or ASN, if you will...). This glossary will be posted within moments in the Documents section of our Project page. Check it out! http://projects.takingitglobal.org/cydbonn/docs/
