Description:
Digital Bridges in Peace is being launched in conjunction with the Digital Bridges exhibit held at the Westbeth Gallery in New York City from July 16 through August 15, 2003.
Objectives:
- Creation of a sustainable information ecosystem in support of digital arts and the discovery, creation and exploration of Digital Bridges to a sustainable, equitable, peaceful and artistic world.
- Creation of digital bridges between and within communities, cities and countries; between different cultures, beliefs, languages and orientations, between different media; bridging digital, material and spiritual realms; bridging gulfs between humanities and sciences, between arts and technologies; bridging digital divides.
- Creation of a prototype market for digital arts, based on an appreciation of digital economics and a microcurrency framework, and powered by a DataPerfect / Firestorm digital engine and information habitat.
- Demonstrate peaceful properties of the Internet and information and communication technology & enable a transition to peaceful knowledge-based societies, economies and environments,
- Develop a prototype open source curriculum in the elements of light and colour, based on the properties of the Virtual Light and Colour Cubes
- Develop a systematic compilation of information and resources on nonviolence and on peaceful forms of communication in honour of the Gandhi-King Season for Nonviolence.
