"The Difference Music Makes" $30,000.00 in music CDs, personal CD players and medical research funds, donated to children's hospital wards.
"The Difference Music Makes" is a community service project created to benefit the young patients during treatments from cancer and other life-threatening diseases. This project is providing fundraising efforts to benefit research hospitals, with the main focus of providing young patients with the gift of music! Laura Corlin has independently produced and recorded a ten song music CD called "The Difference Music Makes". It is a selection of children's favorites that Laura plans to sell, as well as, donate the CD's to the young patients so that they may enjoy music during their treatments and hospital stays. At present, 1000 Volume I CD's are in circulation, half are being sold to raise funds for research, while the remaining 500 have been delivered to the young hospital patients. Laura Corlin is presently producing "The Difference Music Makes-Volume II
Objectives:
1. Provide young patients with music, and its healing benefits, to listen to during treatment periods and long hospital stays.
2. Provide mentor and education programming that provide both youth volunteer opportunities and action planning programs that they can use to bring this service program into their communities and hospital wards.
3. Raise funds for the research of life-threatening pediatric diseases through sales of the Music CD Childrens Series called "The Difference Music Makes."
4. Provide a vehicle for professional musicians and storytellers to share their works with children receiving hospital treatments.
Needs:
1.Music CD Donatiions (New and Un-opened)
2.Personal CD Players (New and Un-opened)
3.Helping Hand Youth Voluneteers (See web-site for details on this youth service initiative)
4.Cash Donations and/or Corporate Sponsors to help fund purchase of CD players for young hospital patients and support production costs of new music CD projects
