What is extractive production? What are extractive reserves (RESEX)? What products come from the forests and how is this production sustainable? How can I visit a reserve or speak to a community leader?
All these questions find answers in the newly opened Reference Center for Extractive Production in Belém-PA in Northern Brazil. Books and leaflets are available to interested students, contacts can be made, lessons learned.
The extractive population is happy: now, they have a reference point in the state capital, where they can relax from the long trip to the city, have some coffee, make some food, get technical assistance, learn the news about relevant politics, decrees, trends and developments and meet with CNS leaders.
