Description:
Do you have faith in Europe? Do the different backgrounds of people affect how they feel about Europe and European Union Institutions? Peace Child International, together with partners from the other EU member countries, is leading this youth-based project in order to discover if there are any connections between the level of faith in the EU, and nationality, age, gender, religion, and ethnic identity.
This project comes at a vital time when confidence in the EU seems at an all time low, with statistics that up to 70% of people in some European states want to immediately withdraw from the Union.
Objectives:
The overall outcome of this project is to produce a book that measures the level of people`s faith in the EU based on the 25000 answers of the questionnaire (click here) distributed throughout the 25 member states of the European Union.
This questionnaire has three functions: to gather statistical information, to build connections between people, both through the Faith in Europe partner network and the use of street questionnaires, and finally to allow for analysis on the subject of faith in Europe.
The book will also contain creative art works to stimulate creative thinking about Europe, and thus we are hoping to receive artwork from all over Europe!
The process will be completed by a meeting of young representatives from all EU member states, to discuss the findings, design the book, and organise Europe wide ‘Faith in Europe’ Day.
