Welcome to freethiscd.com, home of The FAM Manifesto. We are here to educate, inform, challenge, inspire and annoy some of you, as we water the seeds of the Free Music Movement.
FAM is a way of looking at the World of Music that reflects the values of Freedom, Access and Music as espoused by the FAM Foundation. It is not just a copyleft license, it is a system and philosophy based on lessons learned from the musical underground and the Free Software Movement.

In the coming weeks we will be building functionality that will enable you to contribute your own ideas and resources to the Movement and hopefully to future editions of the Manifesto itself.

Objectives:
To develop an alternative global network for distribution and promotion of music outside the mainstream corporate system.
We will:
-spread the text "FREE THIS CD!!! - The FAM Manifesto" explaining what the FAM Revolution is and it's implications for society
-educate artists, music lovers and entrepreneurs about the benefits of FAM Licensing
-build the FAM Foundation to provide administrative, infrastructural and financial support to encourage the proliferation of FAM licensed music
Needs:
-we need you to email "FREE THIS CD!!! - The FAM Manifesto" to likeminded individuals, particularly artists, students, activists and technologists.
-we need help in building out the web sites for the Foundation and related projects.
-we need you to FAM license music and spread the word about artists releasing material under FAM.
-we want you to join FAM in ACTION over at www.sweetmother.org .
