Description:
We have organized The "Rock Without a Needle" Festival since 2001, with Association for Prevention Initiatives. The "Rock Without a Needle" festival has a prophylactic message, and we put a lot of pressure on preventive maintenance during its preparation and execution. We underlined clearly the message during the concert, and we encourage people to have fun without any alcohol, or drugs. The idea of the performance is also underlined that there are no producers of alcohol among the sponsors and alcoholic drinks are not available in the concert area. Last year's edition gathered 4 thousand people.Periods and description of project1. Concerts - Jury will choose the best 8 bands, from applications. They will give a show on the 17th June 2006 at the Festival. During this show there will be 12 rocks bands – 11 from Poland, and 1 from Austria2. Happening - During the festival we give people leaflets and stickers, about addiction, drugs, and a healthy life style. We want the young to be more aware of drug addictions, and bad influences on their body, and family . We have specialist psychologists who work with people addicted to drugs. They give help if it is necessary.3. Musical - Big live performance, connected with opera, rock music, and dancing.4. Film review / Movie review - Movies will be played throughout the night - all on the topic of drugs - including: "Requiem for a Dream", "Trainspotting", "Natalie Cole Story”.5. Training and integration of volunteer - group of 30 volunteers – to co-operate work connected with festival, work with a team, and get experience
Background:
Silesian province has the second largest population rate in Poland. After 1989 there were social-economic changes among Silesian province. It caused huge unemployment leading to problems of social natures. All the time the number of people who takes drugs was escalating out of control.The operation to combat drug addiction (for example: Preventive maintenance, treatment, rehabilitation) is not enough in Silesian province.

show that people can entertain without drugs and alcohol
promote young musicians
involve volunteers to cooperate this festival

Needs:
Drug initiation amongst school children and young people is widespread. Youth treat taking drugs like a fashion. If you do not take drugs you are outside of society. They usually take marijuana, hashish and hallucinatory substance. This big group of young people is not aware of consequences taking drugs. The problem is so important because drugs are widely available even at schools.The “Rock Without a Needle” Festival is a protest against this situation, a voice of the objection of young people, whose friends are closing in this deadly trap.
