Description:
HELP US RAISE FUNDS TO BUILD AN HOSPICE CENTER TO PROVIDE PALLIATIVE CARE TO TERMINAL PATIENTS IN GAMBIA!!!!!Gambia…. It is the smallest country on the African continental mainland.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nJust one organisation provides palliative care services in the Gambia, Future Care Hospice .\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nThe need for the establishment of Future Care Hospice was born out of our hearts for people living with HIV/AIDS, CANCER, MALARIA, STROKE, and other terminal diseases….. TERMINAL DISEASES.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nFuture Care Hospice was officially registered as a charitable organization on Oct 2004 and started with a home care service with four nurses, one chaplain, five auxiliary nurses and three voluntary workers. Two nurses have since left due to lack of funds to pay for their salaries. \\\\r\\\\n \\\\r\\\\nThe program includes symptom control, domiciliary care and prevention advice for all sectors of the society who have advanced disease. Objectives of the program are to embark on training nurses to be highly professional and to support the Government effort in the provision of vital preventive and curative drugs for incurable conditions. Future Care Hospice needs financial assistance to further train personnel, expand their hospital services and improve the availability of drugs in order to provide good palliative care. The well being of the people of The Gambia, particularly those with HIV/AIDS and cancer, is dependent on receiving outside help.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nIn The Gambia, patients with limiting diseases prefer to be at home with their families and not continue with the treatment. They only wait the end of their life.\\\\r\\\\n \\\\r\\\\nWith this mind Future Care Hospice brings palliative and supportive care of all those people, and we need to construct a Hospice Center, where patients will be well cared, observing the international standards in this regards. \\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nFuture Care Hospice brings supportive financial care to the families bereaved of patients with terminal illness.\\\\r\\\\n \\\\r\\\\nAt this time we are working with the minimum conditions.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nWe are currently raising funds for medicines, stationery, medical equipment, and to set up The Hospice Center that will bring Palliative Care to all those terminal patients.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nThank you for showing interest in this project. Please help us make this dream come true!!!!! \\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nWE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!!!!!!

Objectives:
F.C.H aims to deliver optional palliative and supportive health care, of international standards, to people living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases. Thereby improving on the existing care services. This initiative we believe will go a long way in cubing the morality rate in the country and also reduce the burden on the referral hospitals in the area of admission of patients in the categories for treatment, because FCH will be constructing a Hospice Centre for the treatment of those life threatening diseases

Budget:
What we do/plan to do FCH in partnership with the health authorities will be providing palliative care treatment to patients already on admission at the referral hospital for a life threatening disease.\\\\r\\\\n2. To help in giving out palliative drugs to patients\\\\r\\\\n3. To create the awareness needed and promote the development and dissemination of palliative care at both clinical and social levels, through, radio and TV programs, journals, organizing workshops e.t.c.\\\\r\\\\n4. To provide the appropriate training programs for professionals and social health workers, both locally and abroad.\\\\r\\\\n5. F.C.H will have a home base care / domiciliary health care unit, to cater for those patients who ca not affords to be at the referral hospital for personal reasons, at their homes.\\\\r\\\\n6.
