2.Drug Abuse
3.Environment

5.Education
6.Juvenile Delinquency

Background:
In December 2009, the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 64/134 proclaiming the Year, signifying the importance the international community places on integrating youth-related issues into global, regional, and national development agendas. Under the theme Dialogue and Mutual Understanding, the Year aims to promote the ideals of peace, respect for human rights and solidarity across generations, cultures, religions and civilizations. The world is facing many, often overlapping, crises including financial, security, environmental and other socio-economic challenges hindering the achievement of the internationally agreed development goals. Investing in and partnering with youth is key to addressing these challenges in a sustainable manner.

Objectives:
• To train youth leaders in the areas of education, health, environment, drug abuse, hunger, juvenile delinquency and youth participation;
• To ensure participants understand the trends in their local communities and develop appropriate solutions.
• To equip students with the problems faced by the youth in distress and to help them understand the importance of addressing their special needs.
• To ensure participants interact with young people from rural areas and understand the problems faced by them;
• To build participant capacity to train other young people around their community to promote income generation.
