Title: Youth, HIV/AIDS, and Gender Discussion Group
Location:
Global
Status:
In Progress
Timeline: Ongoing
Categories: HIV/AIDS, Gender Equality, Child & Youth Rights
Description:
This is a month-long moderated discussion for and by youth (those aged 15-24) on the gender dimensions of the AIDS pandemic. AIDS affects everyone, but it discriminates against women due to their biological susceptibility to infection during sexual intercourse, cultural norms that prevent women from negotiating safe sex, and their lack of access to health care and education.
