Description:
The GVN team have come up with an innovative model for development that we believe will revolutionise the way we connect, share, and exchange as human beings to help put an end to poverty once and for all. It’s called the GVN Village PoD.
“If you were to take a corn seed and plant it in the ground, and water it, it will eventually germinate and grow. If you were to take a stone and place it on top of the seed it would go round and round and round and eventually die. If you were able to remove that stone the plant will be able to grow and become what was intended.”

The GVN Pod is an architecturally designed community innovation complex that brings together individuals and organisations from around the world who are dedicated to social and environmental change.
Our first PoD is in Uganda and we have recently signed off on a stunning 23 acre piece of land about 45 minutes outside Kampala (Uganda\\\\\\\'s capital city).
Our dream is to create a platform where innovation, engagement, creativity and community development can come together between the local community and volunteers, artists, research teams, grassroots organizations, international NGOs, educational institutions, community groups, medical outreach teams, universities, musicians, students, social entrepreneurs etc. Yes, it\\\\\\\'s a big dream and so very exciting that we\\\\\\\'re on our way to seeing it realised!
The PoDs facilitate open, ongoing learning and exchange between PoD members and the local community. They provide purpose designed spaces for training and workshops, research and product development, music and arts, areas to learn organic farming and horticulture, and rooms for treatment and outreach.
Our aim with the project is to be a completely sustainable including all key elements (power, waste management, water treatment, food).
The GVN PoD will be planted with love, be nurtured, and grow as if from a seed pod. It will be a place for people to come together in a supportive environment to create, learn arts, business, social skills, share their talents, conduct research and outreach, and become leaders in their own communities.
Needs:
The idea is based on affordable memberships that can be purchased in one sum or on a weekly basis. There are three membership options:
Silver PoD Membership - US$1500.00 or from $6.50 a week...
This gives you 1 week per year staying in one of our Volunteer Village single rooms at any of our PoD locations for 20 years.* (Can be paid in lump sum [with a 20% discount] or over 3 years @ 10.00/week or 5 years @ 6.50/week)
• Plus your name will be engraved on the main building at our first PoD in Uganda.
• Plus you will go in the draw to win an invitation to the opening of our Uganda PoD including international flights and accommodation.
• Plus you will receive complimentary Wireless Internet Access during your PoD stay.
• Plus monthly PoD updates to let you know latest news and developments.
Gold PoD Membership - US$2500.00 or from $11 a week...
This gives you 1 week per year staying in one of our Volunteer Village double rooms for two people at any of our PoD locations for 20 years.* (Can be paid in lump sum [with a 20% discount] or over 3 years @ 17.00/week or 5 years @ 11.00/week)
• Plus your name will be engraved on the main building at our first PoD in Uganda.
• Plus you will go in the draw to win an invitation to the opening of our Uganda PoD including international flights and accommodation.
• Plus you will receive complimentary Wireless Internet Access during your PoD stay.
• Plus monthly PoD updates to let you know latest news and developments.
Diamond PoD Membership – US$25,000.00 or from $107 a week...
This gives you (up to) 4 weeks per year staying in one of our PoD Donor Homes (2 bedroom condo) at any of our PoD locations for 20 years.* (Can be paid in lump sum [with a 20% discount] or over 3 years @ 168.00/week or 5 years @ $107/week)
• Plus your name will be engraved on the main building at our first PoD in Uganda.
• Plus you will go in the draw to win an invitation to the opening of our Uganda PoD including international flights and accommodation.
• Plus you will receive complimentary Wireless Internet Access during your PoD stay.
