Hand over hand is an organization run by youth with a simple goal in mind: to cause awareness of disabilities and to create a "crossing over" process for an individual to express empathy rather than sympathy for people with disabilities. It is a plan in action to recognize the abilities, not only to grudgingly accept- but to celebrate it.
Objectives:
- to recognize/give awareness to disabilities each month through school/community events.
- to promote events with disabilities
- to fundraise for other organizations entailing to a specific disability
- to create an online monthly publishment on disability issues
Needs:
- youth writers/researchers
- people willing to start chapters within their own school communities
