HIV/AIDS and Stigmatization.

I dont know but its like in this part of the world, these two cannot be seperated.
When an individual finds out he/she is infected with the decease, no one talks about it. You will find out that when the person eventually dies, all his relatives and the media would say is that the person died after a breif illness. The relations dont talk about it, even if they do, they are confronted with the issue of STIGMATIZATION. Why cant AIDS patients get a regular pay job, why cant they live a regular life. Organizations like Private organizations and even Govmental organizations dont employ people with the decease, this makes people cave into a shell the moment they find out they are infected. I believe this is an issue we in this part of the world should help fight.

here in the Caribbean we also have the problem of stigma and discrimination. My group TIE DIE is on an education campaign that we hope will go a long way in reducing this problem. I also give alot of credit to the government of St. Lucia for their efforts in educating the nation. I pray that this continues as education is one sure way of reducing stigma. Most of the cases of discrimination and stigmatisation occurs as a result of fear of contracting the disease. I believe that if you know about something then you cannot be afraid of it.

Its true that the stigmatization of people living with HIV/AIDS is rampant in most countries,But all the same we all need to create enough awareness for this to stop.
In Nigeria Recently a Private University has to do screening test on its students and fish out those infected with HIV/AIDS and suspend them from the school ,But i see this as the utter most thing to happen to the victims .Nigerian Government has done nothing to these latest development.
I believe its due to these stigmatization ,people living with this virus felt they should keep it to them selves rather than telling people and seeking solutions.
We all need to show luv and care to them living with these virus and also to let them know that they have a right to live a normal life.
More so, there should be a constitution for people or society who violates or stigmatize people living with this Virus. There should also be a jail term for them too.
I believe with all these in place ,STIGMATIZATION will reduce drastically in the world.
REMEMBER TO ALWAYS PLAY SAFE OR BETTER STILL ,AVOID OR DON'T DO.

Obviously, it seems chronic in our part of the world. I think it should be enforced for employers to have a certain percentage of HIV/AIDS persons on their team. They also have a right to everything.
