Description:
we're trying to build up a network of community based organisations in order to find sustainable and local solutions to overcome poverty and vulnerability irrespective of ethnic, religious and other differences.
currently, our member organisations include women's groups, hiv-positive groups, orphanages, youth organisations, groups for the elderly, iga projects and more in central, eastern and nyanza province.
Objectives:
-support of local cbo/ngos in their work against poverty and hiv/aids
-empowerment of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups within the communities
-information, education and communication on the community level
-capacity building for member organisations and target groups
-help with income generating activities and access to markets based on the principles of sustainability and fair trade
-education, with special emphasis on human rights education
Needs:
we need contact to other organisations dealing with similar issues. we just started the project, so any ideas or help will be appreciated!
