Description:
An open source curriculum in the Elements of Information Ecology, with a vision of discovering a host of "beta test" sites - in schools, colleges, libraries, neighborhoods, in a diversity of communities, including artistis, scientists, ecologists, librarians, computer wizards and in intentional faith-based communities, to participate in the interactive development of a comprehensive open source curriculum in the elements of information ecology.

Objectives:

  • Establish the foundations for a comprehensive open source pre-K to 100+ curriculum in information ecology, including modules focusing on:

    • Words
    • Images
    • Light & Colour
    • Elements of HTML
    • Numbers
    • Sounds
    • Information
    • Communication
    • Reconciliation


  • Provide children with a supportive, creative and disciplined framework in which they learn the essential elements of information ecology through sharing their concerns, observations and visions through the medium of the World Wide Web.
  • Create and disseminate the Elements of Information Ecology in HTML, CD-Rom & DVD formats

Objectives:

  • Create a web site for the Friday afternoon classes in the computer lab through which the children learn the experience of describing their community and their concerns and observations in words, images and colours.


  • Development of a comprehensive curriculum database for information ecology, using the DataPerfect Digital Engine - a prototype Information ecology engine, and the high-level kernel of an Information Ecology operatiing system


  • Establish a forum for dialgoue and discussion of the conceptual and practical framework for Information Ecology, with particular attention to elaborating a General Framework of Information Economics
