information-ecology.net

It has been a long time since I have posted a report, howevr, much has been happening in the way of the development of a curriculum, now profiled at www.information-ecology.net and in the applicationof information ecology in the development of several web sites, most notably, methodology development of www.gandhi-king-season.net and www.digital-bridges.net

This has been accompanied by major developments in the DIGITAL and HABITAT3 digital engines. and the development of an outline of some of the elements and design features of Digital Engines - which are at the heart of the Open Source Curriculum in DataPerfect, and of Light & Colour - both of which are vital elements of the curriculum in Information Ecology.

Outlines of the Digital Engine elements and of the Peace Cubes resources - with links for he latter to related resources - can be be found at the Gandhi King Season web site, by clicking on about

DataPerfect Digital Engine

There has been intermittent, yet persistent evolution of the DataPerfect Digital Engine, which is conceived of as the high-level of an Information Ecology enterprise/domain level operating system designed on principles of sustainability, justice and peace.

The Digital Engine is increasingly being used to generate Information Habitat's web pages, and to be developed as a body of knowledge concerning Information Ecology.

The most recent developments with the ending have involved refinement and enhancement of an outline, step-by-step, curriculum in information ecology, and preparations for a digital diary for the Gandhi-King Season for Nonviolence - see the link under project documents for the Digital Engine.

Movement

This last week has seen a distinct quickening of this project and of the set of related projects, thanks to a number of serendipitous events and processes - almost too many to try to capture in this report.

For ease of digestion, I think it would make sense to post separate reports on the status of each of the elements within which progress has been taking place.

Class Report - 2003.03.07

This was the first classs I had led by myself, and I am very happy about how it turned out, and it seemed that most of the children were actively engaged for most of the class.

There wasn't a lot of enthusiasm for writing a letter to President Bush, and/or to Congress people and Senators, so we decided to break up into small groups - one to type up past writings, one to look at a couple of web sites and to write a current message.

Two of the girls - twin sisters - worked on typing in what had been written in earlier classes - both of them making good headway, and seeming to enjoy the task - one having selected an attractive font.
