Background
In order to support countries strengthen the linkages between MC services and ASRH, WHO developed a guidance document with Promundo, with inputs from Engender Health. The document needed significant further development before it was used by services providers, youth NGOs and others.
WHO, UNICEF and UNFPA planned a meeting in Durban, South Africa from the 9th-12th, May, 2010, with the following mandates
to further develop this guidance, with mandates to review the guidelines that had been prepared and make suggestions for improvements, in terms of content and format; to redraft the guidance based on these suggestions; to identify resource materials that are available in the subregion on ASRH that would support the use of the guidance; and to agree on approaches for field-testing the next version and next steps for their use.
Results
A revised version of the MC/ASRH guidance,
A protocol for field-testing, who should do, though the time frame was not agreed upon
A plan for strengthening MC/ASRH linkages was developed.

The Civil Society Dialogue under the umbrella of The AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition (AVAC) will provide a unique forum for civil society representatives to explore current data on male circumcision and discusskey priorities, questions and concerns with a specific focus on theimplications for women. The suggestions and perspectives on theseimplications that are generated in this civil society forum will bepresented at the Expert Consultation, immediately following.The goals of the meeting will be to provide additional background on male circumcision for civil society representatives, and to offer a forum for developing feedback both for the Expert Consultation andgoing forward.
The dialogue will take place on 22- 25th June, 2008 at Nyali Beach Mombasa
