November 20, 2007 - 12:21 PM
|
|
Info meeting: 3 December 2007, LC room 207
Time: 3:30 pm
Cost: $1 600.00 estimated ( plus regular tuition)
(some subsidy already available for students)
This new Luther College 3-credit hour course, which credits students with an international designation on university transcripts, includes an 8-day trip to Mexico City to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America’s Transformation House. This organisation invites students from around the world to participate in a cultural experience of Mexico. The course specifically considers the impact that colonialism and globalisation have had on the Indigenous cultures of Mexico. In particular, the course focuses on the alarming rise in what has been called “feminicide” in cities along the US/ Mexico border.
